Reel Freedom Anglers Plainfield Fishing Club
Reel Freedom Anglers Plainfield Fishing Club
Reel Freedom Anglers Plainfield Fishing Club is made up of youth anglers from the Plainfield, Illinois School District 202 as well as a group of volunteer adult coaches/boat owners and parents.
Reel Freedom Anglers Plainfield Fishing Club was established in January 2022 as an expansion/restructuring of the Plainfield South High School Bass Fishing Club which was founded in 2013 by Pat Scanlon and Bob Bobich. Real Freedom Anglers was formed to expand bass fishing throughout the entire Plainfield school district.
Reel Freedom Anglers Plainfield Fishing Club is focused on introducing young anglers to the sport of competitive bass fishing. Students study bass fishing techniques in order to adapt their fishing to weather and water conditions, temperature, and seasonal fish patterns such as the spawn cycle. Students also learn to manage their time on the water, practice safe boating, and outdoor conservation through stewardship. The club will also give back to the community through sponsored events and community service.
